Your documents live in a vault, not an inbox.
Every W-2, K-1, statement, and ID you share with us stays inside SmartVault, the secure-document platform trusted by CPA firms across the country. Nothing is emailed in either direction.
How your information is handled.
When you work with Strategic Accounting Solutions, you upload documents to a private SmartVault folder instead of attaching them to email, where they'd sit in inboxes and sent folders for years.
SmartVault encrypts your files in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and your account is locked behind two-factor authentication. Preparers see only what they need to file your return, and every access is logged.
Our safeguards
- AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit
- Two-factor authentication required on every account
- A practice run to IRS Publication 4557 data-safeguard standards
- §7216 written consent on file before any disclosure of your information
- An audit log of every document access
- Document retention per IRS and state rules
Why not just email?
Email was never built to carry Social Security numbers, bank details, and full tax returns. One forwarded message or one compromised inbox exposes everything.
A dedicated encrypted portal keeps your sensitive documents in one protected place, with a record of who opened what and when, instead of scattered across messages you can't take back.
How returns are prepared.
We prepare and file your return using professional tax software (Drake® Tax) and secure storage (SmartVault). Before we disclose or use your information in any way that requires your permission, we obtain your written §7216 consent. You'll see exactly what you're consenting to as part of getting started.

We don't sell or rent your information. Period. The only disclosures we make are:
- To the IRS and state tax authorities, in the form of your filed return.
- To you, when you ask for your records.
- To you on the record, with written §7216 consent, only for the specific purpose you've approved.
