Your 1120S, prepared in Drake and filed direct with the IRS.
Federal return, shareholder K-1s, and a reasonable-compensation review, all delivered through SmartVault. Reviewed by two preparers and signed off by Guy Crouch, CPA before it leaves the firm. Starts at $895.
What you get.
Your federal Form 1120S, prepared and e-filed, with a Schedule K-1 produced for every shareholder and delivered straight to their SmartVault folder. We include one state filing with apportionment. If your S-Corp operates in more than one state, we add those returns and tell you the cost before we start.
Every 1120S includes a reasonable-compensation review. We look at the salary you're paying yourself against your distributions and flag it if the split looks like something the IRS would question. It's a small check that saves a lot of trouble later.
What's included
- Federal Form 1120S with state apportionment
- A Schedule K-1 for each shareholder, delivered in SmartVault
- Reasonable-compensation review and flag
- One state business return
- Same-day e-file once you approve, well ahead of March 15
- Signed final return and IRS acceptance in your vault within hours
The deadline.
Form 1120S is due March 15 for calendar-year S-Corporations. The late-filing penalty is charged per shareholder, per month, so a two-shareholder S-Corp that files three months late is looking at a meaningful bill for a return that took no extra work to file on time.
Send us a complete document set by February 15 and we'll have you filed comfortably before the deadline. If you bundle monthly bookkeeping with us, your books are already closed and we can usually file in early March.
Can't make it? We file the Form 7004 six-month extension as part of our extension add-on. An extension moves the filing date, not the payment date, so we'll talk through any estimated payment at the same time.
Books not ready? Start there first.
A 1120S is only as accurate as the ledger behind it. If your books are behind or messy, garbage in means garbage out, and an inaccurate return is the opposite of what we sell.
We can clean up a single year, rebuild one you'd rather forget, or keep your books monthly so this never comes up again. Cleanup is quoted separately, and you approve the number before we touch anything.
How it works.
- Upload your prior-year return, trial balance or QBO/Xero access, year-end bank and card statements, payroll summaries, and shareholder details to SmartVault.
- A named preparer drafts your 1120S and K-1s in Drake Tax.
- A second preparer reviews the return before it leaves the firm.
- You get the draft and a one-page summary, sign Form 8879 electronically, and we e-file the same day.
What we'll need.
- Prior-year tax return
- Trial balance, or access to QuickBooks Online / Xero
- Bank and credit-card statements through year-end
- Payroll summaries and owner-compensation details
- Shareholder K-1 information
- Records of any asset purchases, sales, or loans during the year
SmartVault builds you a personalized checklist after intake, so you're never guessing what's left.
