Tax returns,
prepared with care
filed with speed.

A small, deliberate tax practice for two clients only: S-Corporations filing Form 1120S, and individual households needing a clean federal and state 1040. Books kept on the side when you want it. Nothing rushed, nothing late.

Chapter V · For S-Corp clients

A tidy ledger makes for a tidy return.

A 1120S is only as good as the ledger it's drawn from. We can keep the books monthly, fix what's there once, or rebuild a year you'd rather not think about — then file the return on top of it.

Discuss bookkeeping
Monthly BookkeepingFrom $240/mo

Reconcile bank, cards and clearing accounts each month. P&L and balance sheet delivered by the 10th.

Books CleanupOne-time

Re-categorize transactions, repair opening balances, close prior periods. For ledgers that haven't been touched in months.

Accounting Catch-UpPer period

Prior-year books rebuilt from statements so 1120S filings, amendments and extensions are defensible if audited.

Tax PlanningQuarterly

Reasonable comp targets, distribution timing, retirement deferrals, and estimated taxes — reviewed each quarter.

Chapter VI · Security

Your documents live in a vault, not an inbox.

Every document you share with us — W-2s, K-1s, bank statements, IDs — lives inside SmartVault, the secure-document platform used across the profession. Nothing is emailed in either direction.

SmartVault encrypts files in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Your account is locked behind 2-factor authentication. Preparers see only what they need to file your return, and every access is logged.

  • AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit
  • 2-factor authentication required
  • IRS Pub 4557 compliant practice
  • §7216 consent on file before disclosure
  • Audit log of every document access
  • Retention per IRS & state rules
Chapter VII · Frequently asked

Deadlines, documents,
and turnaround.

The questions that come up most in the first call. If yours isn't here, the Help Center has a fuller list — or send a note and we'll write back the same day.

I. When is my S-Corp 1120S due, and when should I send my documents?

Form 1120S is due March 15 for calendar-year S-Corporations. Send a complete document set by February 15 to be confidently filed on time. If you bundle monthly bookkeeping with us, your books are already closed and we can file by early March.

Need more time? We file the Form 7004 six-month extension as part of our extension add-on.

II. When is my individual 1040 due, and what does "basic return" cover?

Form 1040 is due April 15. A "basic return" covers W-2 wages, 1099-INT/DIV/R, a single Schedule C for sole proprietors, the standard or itemized deduction, and one state. Add-ons cover prior-year, amended, and extension filings; rental real estate (Sch. E) and multi-state filings are quoted separately.

III. How quickly will my return be filed?

Our median turnaround is 72 business hours from a complete document set — every checklist item in SmartVault, all open questions answered. During the last week before each deadline we prioritize already-engaged clients in upload order.

IV. What documents do you need?

For 1120S clients: prior-year return, trial balance or QBO/Xero access, bank and credit-card statements through year-end, shareholder K-1 information, and payroll summaries. For 1040 clients: prior-year return, W-2s, 1099s, ID, and bank routing for refund or payment. SmartVault generates a personalized checklist after intake.

V. Do I need to come into an office?

No. The whole engagement is electronic: intake, document collection, review, signature on Form 8879, e-file, and the signed final return. If you'd prefer a video call to walk through the draft return, we offer 25-minute review calls at no extra charge.

VI. Are you authorized to e-file with the IRS?

Yes. Ledgerline is an Authorized IRS e-File Provider (EFIN on file with the IRS). Every preparer holds an active PTIN, and the firm follows IRS Publication 4557 safeguards for taxpayer data.

Chapter VIII · The deadlines
